About Us

The Sustainable Office was created to serve the needs of a very specific audience: office-based businesses that want to be green. By providing an all-in-one resource that walks companies through this process, we aspire to enable these organizations to lower their impact on the environment.

History

The Sustainable Office is a division of Three Elements Consulting, LLC, founded in 2006. Named for the three elements of the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit - Three Elements Consulting works with organizations to advance social and environmental change, and includes many green start-ups in its client roster.

Recognizing the vast impact that traditional companies have on the environment, Three Elements also engages companies working to become more sustainable, including those based in offices. Looking to reach a broader audience and provide tools that anyone can use to green their office, The Sustainable Office and The Green Office Handbook were born.

About the Founder

Cassie Walker has dedicated her career to reducing the impact that business has on the environment. As founder of Three Elements Consulting, LLC, and The Sustainable Office, she works directly with companies to advance sustainable, responsible business practices. Most recently, Cassie completed a carbon footprint analysis for a Bay-area coffee company, and she also developed a "Green Associate" training program that has been delivered via webinar to over 1,000 participants. She is the author of The Green Office Handbook: a Practical Guide for Greening Your Office, a one-stop resource for companies looking to become more sustainable.

Cassie appeared as the office greening expert on an episode of The Lazy Environmentalist and is a frequent speaker and panelist on topics related to green business. Cassie has an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where she sits on the Alumni Board of Directors. She also volunteers for several environmental organizations.
